Pune police have arrested two youths, including a minor boy, in connection with a murder case in which he allegedly exploded firecrackers outside a Yerawada jail to celebrate the birthday of a prisoner.
In May 2020, police arrested an Akash Kanchile (20) in a murder case. Nitin Shivaji Kasabe, 24, who was facing trial in the murder case, was released from the Yerawada Central Station on the charge of involvement in the murder case. Jailed on provisional bail for Govt-19 eruption.
Kanchili’s supporters were found to be active in the Yerwada area. On the night of February 5, some of Kanchil’s supporters reportedly exploded firecrackers on the airport road outside the Yerwada prison to celebrate his birthday. One video of the incident went viral on social media.
Police charged individually in connection with the incident and began searching for those who set off the firecrackers. Initially, police arrested two suspects identified as Rushikesh Mane and Tushar Awade.
The Crime Branch, headed by Senior Inspector Rajnish Nirmal, has launched a parallel investigation into the incident. The investigation has revealed that two youths, Brajwal Barde (20) and a minor boy, who were allegedly involved in the murder case registered at the Yerwada police station, were involved in the fireworks explosion.
Criminal fraudsters Nagesh Kunwar and Ramesh Rathore arrested Parade and detained the girl from Kalewadi on Wednesday. They were handed over to the Yerwada Police Station for further investigation. On Jan. 26, police said a man was attacked by Sor Panja and his aides, armed with sharp weapons, in Chitra Chuck, Yerwada.
They later gathered on the airport road with the Yerawada prison and exploded firecrackers to celebrate Concepcion’s birthday, according to a police statement.
