Five Indian Test stars are under investigation for violating their life-saving bubble ahead of the New Year’s Test.
Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Bandh, Subman Gill, Prithviraj Shah and Navdeep Saini were spotted eating by an Indian fan on Friday at the Secret Kitchen restaurant in Chadstone Shopping Center, Melbourne.
The fan, Navaldeep Singh, generously released their 8 118.69 bill – “the least I can do for my superstars” – according to posts that are now going viral on social media.

Singh wrote that Bandh “hugged” him, which was an incident of concern to Cricket Australia and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which provided strict life-saving regulations.
But he tweeted on Saturday: “Clarification – Bandh never hugged me, it was all said that we maintained social distance in excitement 🙂 Sorry for the miscommunication”.
It is believed that the biosafety restrictions for this tour will allow players to eat at outdoor restaurants, but footage of players shared by Singh shows the group eating inside the house.
