Latest News Live: Ministry of Defense adjusts Rs 28,000 crore acquisition plans

Latest News Live UpdatesThe Defense Ministry on Thursday approved Rs 28,000 crore worth of projects for its Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), of which Rs 27,000 crore will be acquired from Indian businesses. The ministry said in a series of tweets that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had chaired the DAC meeting, in which five more cases worth Rs 25,000 crore have been sanctioned under the Interior Design Development and Manufacturing Division.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi envoy Sheikh Hasina held a virtual summit on Thursday. The summit was held a day after Vijay Diwas, who celebrated India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971, which led to the creation of Bangladesh.

ISRO’s reliable polar satellite launch vehicle carrying the space agency’s latest communications satellite CMS-01 was launched from space here on Thursday. The satellite is planned to provide services in the extended-C band of frequency spectrum covering India, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.
