Latest live news updates: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday said that reports of withdrawal of some consecutive rupee notes were false. The RBI took to Twitter to say, “It has been clarified that such reports are false about some media reports about the future withdrawal of old series of Rs 100, Rs 10 and Rs 5 notes from circulation.”

In another news, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Crimes) Court today granted bail to former Chief Secretary of the Kerala Chief Minister’s Office M Sivasankar in the Kerala gold smuggling case. The court granted him bail as he did not file a customs indictment in the case.
