Family sources said either HH Srimanth Chintamarao or Aparaje Pondasiv, a 13th generation descendant of the former indigenous warlord, died early Monday morning due to age-related issues. He is 85 years old.

An active member of the Rotary Club, he revived the tradition of the now-famous Ram Naomi Festival during the war in 1980 on a large scale with royal pomp and splendor.
He is survived by his wife Surmilaraje, three sons Rajesraje, Deepakraje, and Yogesraje, a daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
